World Championship of Hockey - Saturday Picks
« on: May 18, 2019, 07:27:34 AM »
Yesterday, only Czech Republic game's main picks went incorrect. Let's try to hit them all this time.

Latvia - Russia 18.00 - 13.00 - 1.08

Latvia has won two out of their four games, winning Italy (0-3) and Austria (5-2), the two worst teams in their group and losing to Czech Republic (6-3) and Switzerland, two of the stronger sides of the group. Russia has beaten all of their four opponents, last three without giving away a goal. Those teams were Italy (10-0), Czech Republic (3-0) and Austria (5-0). Only Norway has been able to score against them (5-2).

Nikita Kucherov (3+7) leads Russia in points, followed by Nikita Gusev (2+6). Rudolfs Balcers leads Latvia with 7 points (1+6). Russia is scoring little over 5,5 goals per game on average while giving away 0,5 per game. Latvia is scoring 3 goals on average while giving away little over 2,5. Over 5,5 goals should come pretty comfortably, same with Russias over 4,5.

PICKS:
Russia over 4,5 goals 1.82
Over 5,5 goals 1.75

Denmark - USA 11.00 - 8.50 - 1.17

After winning France after OT in their opening game, Denmark has only won one game against Great Brittain (0-9). Two days ago they lost to Finland (3-1) and in their second game they lost to Germany (1-2). USA has won all of their games after losing their first game to Slovakia (1-4), beating France (7-1), Finland (3-2 OT) and Great Brittain (6-3).

Patrick Kane leads USA in points with 6 (2+4) followed by Alex DeBrincat with 5 (4+1). Lars Eller is a point leader for Denmark (2+3). USA is scoring little over 4 goals on average, giving away 2,5. Denmark is scoring 4 goals on average while giving away little over 2. I think Denmark could hold USA down, especially after USA let GB score three against them in the last game.

PICKS:
Under 5,5 goals 2.30
USA under 4,5 goals 1.82

Italy - Norway 9.50 - 7.50 - 1.21

Norway finally opened their point bracket after winning Austria 3-5 yesterday. Italy also played yesterday losing to Czech Republic 8-0 and are still yet to score a goal in this tournament. From now on, it will be a fight between Austria and Italy to decide which country is relegated to B-series.

After scoring couple points yesterday Tobias Lindström (2+2) is leading Norway in points with Alexander Reichenberg (1+3). Italy obviously has no point leader. Norway is scoring little over 2 goals on average while giving away little over 5,5. Italy is giving away almost 8 goals on average per game.

Against Norway it will finally happen. Italy will be scoring their first goal in the tournament. Odds are not great, but still something to pick up. Brave players can pick up Italy's 0 goals with 4.25 odds. I will go for over 5,5 goals here.

PICKS:
Over 5,5 goals 1.91

Canada - Germany  1.17 - 8.50 - 11.00

Germany has not lost a single game yet in the tournament after four games. They have beaten Slovakia (3-2), France (4-1), Denmark (2-1) and Great Brittain (3-1). Canada has only lost once, against Finland in their opening game (3-1), but after that they have won every game they have played against Great Brittain (8-0), Slovakia (5-6) and France (5-2).

Anthony Mantha leads Canada in points (5+4) while Markus Eisenschmid has taken over Matthias Plachta as Germany's point leader (1+4). Germany is really good defensive team, scoring only 3 goals on average, but also giving away only little over 1 goal per game. Canada is scoring 5 goals on average while giving away 2,5. Let's go for a low scoring game since Germany is defending their hearts out every game.

PICKS:
Under 5,5 goals 2.20
Canada under 4,5 goals 1.76

Great Brittain - Slovakia

Both teams played yesterday. Great Brittain put in an okay performance with couple good chances to score, but couldn't get past Jussi Olkinuora and eventually lost 5-0. They have also lost their 4 other games against USA (6-3), Denmark (0-9), Canada (0-8) and Germany (3-1). Slovakia finally won a game after losing three straight. They beat France 3-6 after losing to Germany (3-2), Canada (5-6) and Finland (2-4). In their first game they won USA (1-4).

After having a three point night against France, Richard Panik (1+5) is leading Slovakia in points. Mike Hammond leads GB with 2+0. Slovakia is scoring little under 4 goals on average, giving away little over three. GB is scoring little under 1 goal on average, while giving away little over 6.

There is really nothing that good to go for. I will try no catch Slovakia's leading goal scorers goal with okay odds.

PICK:
Matus Sukel will score 2.02

Sweden - Switzerland 1.40 - 5.60 - 5.75

Sweden lost their opener against Czechs (5-2) but destroyed three worst teams in the group Italy (0-8), Austria (9-1) and Norway (1-9). Switzerland has won all of their games beating Italy (9-0), Latvia (1-3), Austria (4-0) and Norway (4-1).

William Nylander (3+7) leads Sweden in points, while Patric Hörnqvist leads them in goals. Nico Hischier leads Swiss team in points with 7 (3+4). Kevin Fiala is one point behind (4+2). Switzerland is scoring 5 goals on average, while giving away only 0,5 goals per game. Sweden scores 7 goals on average while giving away little under 2 goals per game.

Switzerland adding Carolina Hurricanes star Nino Niederreitter in their squad, I think they will get atleast two goals tonight. Over 5,5 is a good pick here too, but it's not playable ATM on the site I'm playing. Odds for it should be around 2.00.

PICKS:
Switzerland over 1,5 goals 1.73
Over 5,5 goals
