World Championship of Hockey - Sunday
« on: May 19, 2019, 12:05:40 PM »
Austria - Czech Republic 34.00 - 20.00 - 1.02

Both teams played on Friday. Austria lost to Norway (3-5), which was it's fifth loss of the tournament. While losing all there games, Austria is scoring little over 1 goal on average and giving away little under 6 goals per game on average. Czech Republic has only lost to Russia, and they have won all of their four other games, latest win being against Italy (8-0). Czech Republic is scoring little over 5 goals per game on average while giving away 2 per game. Michael Frolik (5+5) and Jakub Voracek (2+8) lead Czech Republic in points. Peter Schneider leads Austria in points with 3 (1+2).

It's hard to find anything super comfortable to play in this game, but Czech Republic's over 5,5 goals seems likely.

PICK:
Czech Republic over 5,5 goals

Germany - USA 10.00 - 7.50 - 1.20

Germany finally showed some signs of mortality, by losing to Canada 8-1 yesterday. Before getting clapped by Canada they had won all of their 4 games and been defensivily effective. USA won Denmark easily 7-1. They have one point less than Germany, since they won Finland only after overtime and lost to Slovakia. Otherwise they have won their games after regular time. Patrick Kane (2+7) leads USA in points Alex DeBrincat following right behind (6+2). Markus Eisenschmid leads Germany with 6 points (1+5). Even after getting destoyed by Canada, Germany has only given away 13 goals in 5 games, also scoring 13 in 5 games. USA is scoring little under 5 goals per game and giving away little over 2.

USA has to face Canada in their last game after this, while Germany is playing Finland in their last game. Slovakia, that is three points behind Germany and two points behind USA is playing Denmark in their last game. Germany needs a draw to clinch their spot in quarterfinals. USA has to win in overtime or regular time to clinch their spot in quarterfinals. USA has way better material and is likely to win this game pretty comfortably. I could see Germany score a goal, maybe even two.

PICK:
USA over 4,5 goals 1.98
Alex DeBrincat will score 1.89
Patrick Kane 2 points or more 2.00
Alex DeBrincat 2 points or more 2.15

France - Finland 19.00 - 12.50 - 1.07

Finland played Great Brittain on Friday. After struggling in the first period, they still won 5-0 with no danger of losing at the end. France played Slovakia and lost 3-6. France has lost all of their games, only getting one point from game against Denmark. Finland has lost only once, to USA (2-3 OT), but other than that they have won all their games. Finland has scored 3,5 ish goals on average and given away 1,5 ish. France has scored little over 2 goals on average while giving away 5,5 ish. This summers top2 NHL Entry Draft Pick Kaapo Kakko is leading Finland in points (6+1), followed by Sakari Manninen (1+5). France has two players on 4 points: Anthony Rech and Damien Fleury, both of them having 3+1 total points.

Finland is the top of their group, one point ahead of Canada and Germany. France has one point, which separates them from bottom team Great Brittain. They will play each other in the last game. Finland should come out of this as a winner and hold their top spot in the group. In four games out of five Finland has played, there has been only 5 goals or less scored. Only in game against Slovakia there was 6 goals scored. I'm picking a low scoring game here.

PICK:
Under 5,5 goals 2.15

Switzerland - Russia 6.40 - 5.10 - 1.40

Both teams played yesterday. Russia beat Latvia 1-3, while Switzerland lost 4-3 to Sweden. Russia is still yet to lose a game, Switzerland having lost one. Russia has scored little over 5 goals per game on average, while giving away 0,5 ish goals per game. Switzerland has scored 4,5 ish goals on average while giving away little over 1 goal per game. Nikita Kucherov leads Russia in points (4+8). Nico Hischier has 7 (3+4) points for Switzerland.

Russia's team is insane. Stacked with individuals like Ovechkin, Kucherov, Kuznetsov etc they are scoring a lot of goals and barely let any in. Giving away only one goal in four games it's hard to see Switzerland do much better.

PICKS:
Russia over 3,5 goals 1.91
Switzerland under 1,5 goals 2.10
Nikita Kucherov 2 points or more 2.05
Russia leads after 1st period 1.95

Michael Frolik 2 points or more 1.65

Kaapo Kakko will score 1.64
Toni Rajala 1 point or more 1.40

Harri Pesonen 1 point or under 1.60
Finland leads after 1st period 1.40

SUI-RUS over 4,5 goals 1.50
Yevgeni Kuznetsov 1 point or more 1.55
Alexander Ovechkin 1 point or more 1.55
Yevgeni Dadonov 1 point or more 1.45

Nikita Gusev 1 point or more 1.45
