World Championship of Hockey - Thoughts on Mondays games
« on: May 13, 2019, 02:11:43 PM »
USA - Finland 1.84 - 5.00 - 3.25 (Veikkaus)

Finland has started the tournament with two wins beating Canada 3-1 and Slovakia 2-4. USA has won once and lost once beating France 7-1 and losing to Slovakia 1-4. Finland mixed up their lines for this game, also changing the starting goalie. Arttu Ilomäki who has played along side Kaapo Kakko is out from the lineup. Veini Vehviläinen starts in goal.

Rajala - Tyrväinen - Kuusela
Pesonen - Manninen - Kakko
Savinainen - Luostarinen - Ojamäki
Sallinen - Lammikko - Anttila

Lehtonen - Ohtamaa
Lindbohm - Jokiharju
Mikkola - Kaski
Koivisto - Hakanpää

Vehviläinen

Kaapo Kakko leads the whole tournament in scoring having 5 goals in two games. Alex DeBrincat is leading scorer for Team USA. DeBrincat has scored in both games in this tournament, and also in the pre tournament game against Germany. First game DeBrincat played on second line with Johnny Gaudreau and Dylan Larkin, in the second game he played on the same line with Larkin and Patrick Kane. Getting playing time on powerplay also, DeBrincat could keep scoring for USA. Also you can't forget Kakko who has been red hot for Finland. I think the game will be tighter than odds suggest, so Finland X2 will be a good pick here also.

Finland X2 1.90
Alex DeBrincat will score 2.50
Kaapo Kakko will score 2.40

Also a interesting thing would be to try out goal ammounts for both DeBrincat and Kakko. On Veikkaus you can the odds are as follows:
Alex DeBrincats goals
0 goals (1.35) - 1 goal (3.40) - over 1 goal (11.50)
Kaapo Kakkos goals
0 goals (1.36) - 1 goal (3.40) - over 1 goal (10,50)

Russia - Czech Republic 1.52 - 5.00 - 4.40 (Veikkaus)

Russia has started off with wins over Norway (5-2) and Austria (5-0) meanwhile Czech Republic has beaten Norway (2-7) and Sweden (5-2). Nikita Kucherov and Yevgeni Dadonov have been leading point scorers for Russia and Dominik Kubalik and Filip Hronek for the Czechs. Yevgeni Dadonov has scored two goals in each game. Eventhough Russia is the favorite, you can't rule out Czech Republic in this. Czech Republic X2 gives odds of 2.35 at the moment which I find worth of trying.

Czech Republic X2 2.35
Yevgeni Dadonov will score 2.50

Slovakia - Canada 6.40 - 5.80 - 1.32

Slovakia surprised USA by beating them in the opener 1-4, but lost to Finland 2-4 in the second game. Canada was surprised by Finland in the first game 3-1 but Canada came back strong and slaughtered Great Brittain 0-8. After struggling in the first game, Canadians might be reliefed after winning with such a high margin. Now with one win under their belt they could keep on producing against the host country.

Canada over 3,5 goals 1.88
Canada over 4,5 goals 3.10
Over 5,5 goals 2,08

Norway - Sweden 20.00 - 15.00 - 1.03

Scandinavian fixture here, with no question about the favorite. Sweden lost to Czechs 5-2 in the opener but hammered Italy 0-8 in the second game played yesterday. Norway has lost both of their games to Czechs 2-7 and to Russia 5-2. Sweden is not any easier opponent, so you can expect a goal festival in this game too.

Over 6,5 goals 2.13
Sweden over 5,5 goals 2.30

Feel free to post your thoughts also and hopefully cash out some money today by figuring out the right picks together! :)
