EURO2020 Qualifiers
« on: June 07, 2019, 08:02:20 AM »
EURO2020 Qualifiers continue today with 12 matches. I have picked up two fixtures that I find most interesting and that have playable odds.

Austria - Slovenia 1.85 - 3.50 - 4.65 (Paf.com)

Austria and Slovakia will face each other in Group G third round game. Austria has lost both of their opening games, first to Poland (0-1) and then to Israel (4-2). Slovenia has started with two 1-1 draws against Israel and North Macedonia. Austria has won only one of their last 5 games, when they beat Northern Ireland in UEFA Nations League. Slovenia has played 5 1-1 draws in a row.

Austria's last 5:
EURO2020: Israel - Austria 4-2
EURO2020: Austria - Poland 0-1
UEFA Nations League: Northern Ireland - Austria 1-2
UEFA Nations League: Austria - Bosnia & Hertzegovina 0-0
Int. Friendly: Denmark - Austria 2-0

As said earlier, Slovenia has 5 1-1 draws in a row. Three of them were in Nations League against Bulgaria, Norway and Cyprus. Austria has a strong starting lineup, featuring players like Alaba, Arnautovic and Sabitzer. Out of these three stars Arnautovic has managed to score 2 goals total in two Qualifier games. Slovenia has two big stars, brightest one being between the posts, Jan Oblak. Other big name for Slovenia is striker Ilicic.

Athletico Madrid star Oblak is known to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world at the moment and gives Slovenia a chance to win in every game. Austria is a favorite here because of home advantage, but also for their better material. Both teams current form being what it is, I would pick Slovenia X2 here with good odds. Austria is scoring less than once on average per game on 5 game span, while giving away about 1,5. Slovenia obviously has 1 in both categories.

PICK:
Slovenia X2 2.00

North Macedonia - Poland 4.25 - 3.45 - 1.95

Poland has started it's qualifiers with two wins over both Austria (0-1) and Latvia (0-2). North Macedonia beat Latvia (3-1) and had a draw against Slovenia (1-1), which means both teams are unbeaten so far. North Macedonia has won 3 out of their last 5, and also lost one. Draw against Slovenia is included in these past five games. Poland has one draw, two wins and two losses in their past 5 games.

North Macedonia past 5:

EURO2020: Slovenia - North Macedonia 1-1
EURO2020: North Macedonia - Latvia 3-1
UEFA Nations League: North Macedonia - Gibraltar 4-0
UEFA Nations League: Liechtenstein - North Macedonia 0-2
UEFA Nations League: Armenia - North Macedonia 4-0

Poland past 5:

EURO2020: Poland - Latvia 2-0
EURO2020: Austria - Poland 0-1
UEFA Nations League: Portugal - Poland 1-1
Int. Friendly: Poland - Czech Republic 0-1
UEFA Nations League: Poland - Italy 0-1

Eventhough North Macedonia has won three of their last 5 games, their opponents have been small and weak countries. Meanwhile Poland has played much bigger and better sides and done rather well. In this fixture home teams form doesn't have that much effect.

Poland has multiple stars in their team. Strikers Lewandowski (Bayern Muchen) and Piatek (AC Milan) both scored 22 goals in their clubs. Piatek scored one goal more in Serie A than Cristiano Ronald. Lewandowski ended up the top of the top scorer list in Bundesliga. Poland's substitute striker Milik (Napoli) isn't bad either, scoring impressive 17 goals in Serie A. With Glik (AS Monaco) in defense and either Fabianski (West Ham) or Szczesny (Juventus) in goal, Poland is not giving away goals that much either.

Poland has way better material than North Macedonia and should be able to beat them even away from home.

PICK:
Poland 1.95

Also you can try to pick goal scorers with pretty nice odds.

Lewandowski 2.17
Piatek 2.75

Feel free to tell your opinions about the picks and let us all know if you have some good playing ideas in EURO2020 qualifiers :)
