Saturday's EURO2020 Qualifiers
« on: June 08, 2019, 12:30:36 PM »
Greece - Italy 5.00 - 3.20 - 1.90 (Paf.com)

Previous games in competition

Both Greece and Italy are unbeaten after two games in Group J. Italy has won Finland 2-0 and Liechtenstein 6-0. Greece did beat Liechtenstein as well, but only 2-0 and had a draw against Bosnia & Hertzegovina 2-2. Italy's strikers Fabio Quagliarella and Moise Kean both have two goals in two games. Greece's Konstantinos Fourtonis also has two goals.

Form in past 5 games

Greece played a friendly game against Turkey just a week ago and lost it 2-1. Greece has one draw, two losses and two wins in their past 5 games. Two of these games were the first EURO2020 qualifying games and two were UEFA Nations League games. Italy has also played one friendly, two EURO2020 games and two Nations League games in their past 5. Italy has won four of those games and has one draw.

Greece in their past 5 games:
Friendly: Turkey - Greece 2-1
EURO2020: Bosnia & Hertzegovina - Greece 2-2
EURO2020: Liechtenstein - Greece 0-2
Nations League: Greece - Estonia 0-1
Nations League: Greece - Finland 1-0

Italy in their past 5 games:
EURO2020: Italy - Liechtenstein 6-0
EURO2020: Finland - Italy 0-2
Friendly: Italy - USA 1-0
Nations League: Italy - Portugal 0-0
Nations League: Poland - Italy 0-1

Greece can score goals, as they have scored little over 1 goals per game on average, while giving away 1 goal per game on average. Italy has 2 goals per game on average while giving away none, but the slaughter against Liechtenstein affects the form quite a bit.

Conclusion

Both Greece and Italy are in fine form, but Italy should be bigger favorite here. Italy's material is obviously much better than Greece's in every part of the squad. Most interesting thing to see is, who is going to start as a striker for Italy. Will it be Quagliarella, Kean or Immobile? Who ever they decide to start, they really can't go wrong. Donnarumma will most likely play in goal and with defenders like Bonucci and Chiellini in front of him, Italy is not going to give away goals that easily. Italy will win this game and I'm gladly picking such a high odds for their win as 1.90.

Italy 1.90

Turkey - France 5.80 - 3.85 - 1.65 (Paf.com)

Previous games in competition

Turkey will be hosting defending World Cup winners in EURO2020 third round qualifier game in Group H. Both teams have had the best possible start to their qualifiers by winning first two games. Turkey has beaten Moldova 4-0 and Albania 2-0, while France has cleared both Iceland (4-0) and Moldova (4-1) out of their way. Mbappe, Griezmann and Giroud all have 2 goals each for France. Tosun has scored twice for Turkey.

Form in past 5 games

Turkey has one draw and four wins in their past 5 games. Three of those games have been international friendly matches and two of them have been EURO2020 qualifiers. France has also won four of their past 5, but lost their Nations League game against the Netherlands.

Turkey in their past 5 games:

Friendly: Turkey - Uzbekistan 2-0
Friendly: Turkey - Greece 2-1
EURO2020: Turkey - Moldova 4-0
EURO2020: Albania - Turkey 0-2
Friendly: Turkey - Ukraine 0-0

France in their past 5 games:

Friendly: France - Bolivia 2-0
EURO2020: France - Iceland 4-0
EURO2020: Moldova - France 1-4
Friendly: France - Uruguay 1-0
Nations League: Netherlands - France 2-0

Turkey is in great shape. They have scored 2 goals per game on average, while giving away 0,2 per game on average. France is also scoring 2 goals per game on average, actually little over. France isn't giving away goals either as they are also below 1 per game on average.

Conclusion

Turkey has played really well especially at home, eventhough their opponents aren't that good. France has performed well lately too, but has also faced weaker sides. France has super deep squad and their material is literally best in the world right now. France is a huge favorite even away from home, and with their material they should come out of this as a winner. I'm taking France with one and a half goal handicap.
