Chicago Blackhawks – Boston Bruins season statistics

The NHL season is over halfway through, as teams have played 51 to 55 games out of 82. This match has a lot to offer for both Chicago and Boston. Boston is aiming for Eastern conference title trailing one point to conference and league leader Washington Capitals. Chicago has a very good chance to make playoffs this season. Blackhawks are currently in the 10th place in the Western conference and they are 3 points away from the last playoff spot. Chicago Blackhawks are 25-21-7 this season, while Boston has a record of 32-10-12.

Chicago Blackhawks – Boston Bruins forms in last 10 games

Both teams are in good form. Chicago has gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, which means they have won 6, lost 3 and lost once in overtime. Their latest loss came just last night against Minnesota Wild as they lost 3-2 in overtime. During the 10 game span Chicago went unbeaten in 5 games in a row. Blackhawks have scored 33 goals and given away 25 in their past 10 games including overtime and shootout goals.

Boston Bruins is doing even better than Chicago. Bruins have the record of 7-2-1 in their past 10 games and they have now won 4 games in a row. Boston also played last night beating another red hot team Vancouver Canucks 4-0. Even though Boston has been in slightly better form win wise, they have the similar goals for and goals away ratio to Chicago. Boston has scored 35 goals and have given away 24 in their past 10 games. Boston had 15 points out of possible 20, while Chicago got 13.

Chicago Blackhawks – Boston Bruins: Who are hot?

Both Chicago and Boston have players in a good form. Bruins star David Pastrnak has 75 points this season (38+37). “Pasta” lead the goal scoring till last night. He dropped back to 2nd place after Alexander Ovechkin scored a hat-trick to make his goal amount 40. Another Bruins forward Brad Marchand has 69 (23+46) points so far.

David Pastrnak will score

Patrick Kane is leading in points for Chicago. Kane has 65 points so far (25+40). Second best point scorer for Chicago is Jonathan Toews with 44 (14+30) points.

Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk (3+2) has 5 points in five games and defenseman Torey Krug (2+4) has 6 points in five games making them hot players like Pastrnak and Marchand. For Chicago forwards Kirby Dach (1+4) and Brandon Saad (4+1) and defenseman Erik Gustafsson (1+6) have been in really good for in past 5 games along side star players like Toews and Kane.

Jake DeBrusk scores minimum 1 point
LeoVegas 2.10

Erik Gustafsson scores minimum 1 point
Leovegas 2.35

Chicago Blackhawks – Boston Bruins: What to bet?

When it comes to form in past 10 games Boston is better, but only slightly. But in past 5 Boston has gone unbeaten 4 games in a row, scoring 15 goals, while allowing only 4 in those games. At the same time Chicago is having bit of a struggle as they have gone twice to overtime and lost once in the regular time. Before that they won two games quite comfortably (5-2 against Winnipeg Jets and 6-2 against Toronto Maple Leafs).

Chicago is missing forward Andrew Shaw and defensemen Brent Seabrook and Calvin De Haan due to injuries. Boston has Connor Clifton (defenseman), Kevan Miller (defenseman), Joakim Nordstrom (forward) and Danton Heinen (forward) on its injury list.

Boston has better goaltending and has more firepower in their attacking lines. Chicago is not very good at home, while Boston is one of the best teams in the league playing away. Now that Boston is on a winning streak, I think they will carry their form in this game too. I pick Boston to win in regular time.

Pick for Chicago Blackhawks – Boston Bruins:
Boston Bruins
LeoVegas 2.14
Lapalingo 2.05
